OVERVIEW

Product Overview

As intelligent manufacturing and smart logistics develop rapidly, AMRs, unmanned forklifts, service robots and other equipment demand ever-higher accuracy, response speed and data stability from laser sensors. To address real-world constraints in space, point-cloud stability and environmental adaptability, HINSON launches the new SQD series laser sensor — a compact design with high-quality point-cloud output, delivering a more flexible and efficient solution for logistics automation.

SQD-02001000 features 360° omnidirectional scanning with a minimum range of 0.05 m and detection up to 25 m on targets with ≥90% reflectance; 9 Hz / 18 Hz dual refresh rates, with 0.125° angular resolution at 9 Hz, balancing point-cloud density and responsiveness; supports first, second, last and strongest echo filtering. With IP65 protection and Class 1 laser safety, it operates stably in dust, splashing water and outdoor lighting.

FEATURES

Key Features

Up to 25 m detection range
Starts at 0.05 m; 25 m @ ≥90% reflectance, 10 m @ ≥10% reflectance — covers both long range and low-reflectance targets
360° omnidirectional scan
No blind spot in the horizontal FOV; one unit covers the full surroundings, reducing sensor count
0.125° high angular resolution
0.125° angular resolution at 9 Hz for fine point clouds and clear contours — ideal for high-precision mapping & localization
25,920 Hz measurement frequency
High-frequency sampling ensures per-scan point-cloud density and data stability, reliably detecting weak-reflectance targets
9 Hz / 18 Hz dual refresh rates
9 Hz for mapping/positioning density, 18 Hz for high-speed response — switch freely by scenario
Industrial reliability
IP65 protection, Class 1 laser safety, -10–50 °C operating range, tolerant to ≤80,000 Lux ambient light

PRINCIPLE

How It Works

01
TOF time-of-flight ranging
Emits 905 nm laser pulses; the receiver captures the reflection and the target distance is computed from the pulse round-trip time.
02
360° rotating scan
A rotating mechanism spins the transceiver at constant speed, collecting distance and echo intensity angle by angle to form one complete 2D point-cloud frame per revolution.
03
Echo filtering & multi-target processing
Multiple echoes are obtained at the same angle, supporting first/second/last/strongest echo output to extract stable contours in complex, partially-reflective scenes.

INSTALLATION

Installation & Usage Notes

Optical window care
  • Wipe the window regularly with a soft lens cloth and a little anhydrous ethanol; avoid dry wiping to prevent scratches (scratches void warranty)
  • No films, sprays or organic solvents on the window; avoid touching the surface directly
  • Ensure the window is unobstructed above and around, or blind zones will form
Power & wiring
  • DC 10–30 V; verify voltage range and polarity before wiring to avoid reverse connection
  • Standard 250 mm pigtail (M12 male); use shielded cable and reliable grounding for extensions
  • ≤2.5 W total; can share a power rail with the control system, but a separate fuse is recommended
Networking & sync
  • Connect to the host over industrial Ethernet; keep it in the same subnet and confirm IP settings
  • Enable NTP for multi-sensor operation to keep point-cloud timestamps aligned
  • 6 × PNP I/O configurable as trigger input or status output, for easy PLC integration
Installation & environment
  • Mount on top or a high point, keep the 360° view clear and the surface as level as possible
  • Operating temperature -10–50 °C, humidity <80% RH (no condensation/frost)
  • Tolerant to ≤80,000 Lux; a shade is still recommended for prolonged direct sunlight
  • IP65 handles dust and splashes; do not submerge or pressure-wash
